Problem - Converting to MP3

Hello,

I'd like to converte a text-file with different voices to splitted MP3-files. 3 or 4 minutes per file.
(additional information: the Word doc-file is 168 pages long. Too long?)

Only four files are created, after that, 2 hours later, no information, no error messages.

Just four MP3-files. If I press "stop", all files are deleted. :shock:

I tried that also with Menu -> Tools -> Batch file converter
Same problem

Always:
Writing Audio File Encoded Time: 00:09:44,

There are 20 GB space on the HD, so that can't be the problem.

At the moment, I can't understand that problem.

Mark

I have now reduced the file to 61 pages. Same problem.

Unfortunately while converting there is no information which line will be converted now. :-(

Any idea?

Regards,
Mark

Hi Mark,

Not sure what this could be. Please duplicate the problem. When the encoding gets stuck, don't click the Stop button right away. Instead, click Help -> Support -> Report A Problem, and reference this issue in the problem report text. Hopefully he problem report will give me an idea of what is happening.

Thanks.

Hi Jim,

I have sent a report.

Is it possible to see on which line or word is the converting process?
That can help to find error in the tags or so on.

Best regards,
Mark

Hello Jim,

I have played with the text. Single short text no problem.

But:

blablabla......
</voice>

{{Pause=0,5}}
Chapter 1
{{Pause=0,5}}

makes problems.

Do I change the first "Pause":

blablabla......
{{Pause=0,5}}
</voice>

Chapter 1
{{Pause=0,5}}

that works.

Maybe that helps.

Best regards,
Mark

Hello Jim,

I think, I have found the next problem and solution.

Interleaving is not possible.

Every open-tag needs an close-tag. It is not possible to have included an other voice.

Regards,
Mark

Hi Mark,

It is possible the most recent TextAloud update at http://www.nextup.com/files/ta3.exe will help with this problem. The update contains a fix related to handling the </voice> end tag, which may have been causing the trouble. Please give it a try and let me know.
