The best respell I have come up with is not good enough. I am using the Microsoft David voice and respelling it as condition'ali'tea but it just does not sound good enough. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Regie

Enter
<Pron sym="k ax n - d ih 2 sh ax - n ae 1 l ax - t iy"/>
with Respell
or

The imitative method you are using to respell words is one of the worst things you can do in text-to-speech because these pronunciations and unstable and unpredictable. You should invest the time in learning to use phonemes.
P.S. These kind of pronunciations should be placed at the end of your dictionary to prevent them from interfering with other entries.

Re: Conditionality
Thanks for trying to help me out on this. I am almost 81 years old and I do not remember in the low grades in grammar school ever studying phonemes (however it is spelled) and I tried to find something on the internet that would help me but am giving up on it and settling for respell for conditionality as being condition'owli'tea. I've had some difficult words before, but this one takes the cake. Thanks again.

Re: Conditionality
I do not understand why you would stick with using method you are using when it just as easy to use either of pronunciations I provided above for you.
P.S. your comments are also very Ageist.

Hi Regie
I can sympathize with your problem!
Being lazy I tend to look up difficult pronunciations on the web and tend to use the IPA option. An expression for conditionality is given here:
https://ythi.net/how-do-you-pronounce/c ... y/english/
So in the respell line of TA4 type the following where /kəndɪʃənælɪti/ has been copied and pasted from the web site.
<phoneme alphabet="ipa" ph=" /kəndɪʃənælɪti/ ">
Hope that helps .... works for me!

Re: Conditionality
Due to your last reply, at last I came up with the best pronunciation. You got me on the right path for the best I could do. I likewise use the internet for word definitions and separations of words by syllables. (conditionality = kundishu'nality here in the South.
