Reading PDF in Firefox

I'm sorry if this has been answered before.

I have been using TextAloud for Firefox to read pdf from the web for some time.
I think there is some restriction in the older version of FireFox or the ESR version of FireFox that is required in order for the reading of PDF to work in FireFox, but I'm pretty sure I have got it working before.
e.g.
This url works in FireFox in some older version or variant
https://science.sciencemag.org/content/ ... 5.full.pdf
There is some restriction in Chrome that prevent it from working.

However, since I have re-installed my operating system, the latest version of FireFox does not allow me to read off the PDF.

Can anyone advise if I can get the reading of the pdf back by either upgrading to TA4, install a certain version of FireFox etc?
If a particular version of FireFox, I would appreciate if the specific version can be mentioned.

Thanks.

TextAloud has really never been able to handle pdf documents from any of the browser extensions. You could set up a TextAloud hotkey to read selected text, then use the hotkey to speak highlighted text in your browser. To get word highlighting to work you would need to import the text into TextAloud, using another hotkey or the Windows clipboard.

We hope to handle this better in future versions of TextAloud.
