Record music from Internet Radio - how??

Postby falcion » Mon Aug 14, 2006 11:57 am

Hi!

can anyone suggest a program for internet radio streaming or get mp3’s legal??? There are some like Winamp or good commercial ones like http://www.internetradio-recorder.com . Radiotracker has many features and looks great. Has anyone tested it?

regards

I use a program called Total Recorder (professional edition) to record streaming audio from the internet. Can do it while you're there or schedule it to open up certain links/audio sources at certain times, and record for some period of time. Excellent program.

RIP Vinyl

I have been using a program called RIP Vinyl for years, to record off the Internet. It was designed to transfer music from LPs to MP3s. It will automatically stop recording after a predefined pause and create a new file when sound continues. This is ideal for putting an old LP on and having the whole side copied into individual tracks.

I use it to capture radio broadcasts from America. Often the the commercials get put into their own files which I can ignore. The wife and I taught the kid that downloading music is illegal and can get us into trouble but capturing music using a program like RIP Vinyl is the same as taping a TV program on a VCR. Legal and undetectable.

The trial version was a full version but it put a few tones at the beginning of each audio file. It might still be like that. I set it to run and it turns 12 hours of talk radio into anywhere from 50 to 120 mp3 files for me that I prefix with Mon, Tues, etc

It is not an editing program but I have used it to re-sample and the developer was always helpful when I ran into problems. It was very inexpensive, real easy to use and had a small foot print.

with it i can record your own music, voice or other sound you hear, either voice from microphone, webcasts from the Internet, music played by Winamp, Windows Media Player, Quick Time, Real Player, Flash, games, etc.

It works very well, you may try it. I hope it useful to you.

i wanna say you are likely to record streaming mp3 from internet radio without getting into legal trouble. I got this because my friend just told me about audio recorder that you can work with. I also do not want to get into any legal trouble. But i just record it for my personal use.

I may be mistaken but almost all radio-streaming programms have the function of recording, at least the ones that are primary developed for it...

I've tried, and it really works! Quite surprising :) I've made a first 15 second tutorial with its help
