We really need a Save command

Post by sulu »

May I suggest a simple Save command on the File Menu or in a context menu for the current article? If you have already saved it, it should just save it and not put you through the File Save dialogue every time.

Hi Su

We can look at adding a Save command, but I'd like to understand the problem you're having better. TextAloud should always be automatically saving your article content. Are you running into conditions where you are losing articles and/or changes to article text? If so, can you walk me through how to duplicate the problem(s)?

Hi, Jim! My procedure is:
(1) I am creating a new file for reading for one of my voices.
(2) I save it with the command "Save Article as Text File"
(3) A dialogue appears that allows me to choose where to save the file.
(4) I save it the first time.
(5) I make additions to my file. In other words, I continue editing it.
(6) I need to save it again, but I should not have to go through the Save Article as Text File command. Instead, I should have access to a simple Save command that already knows where I have saved the current article and it writes out the contents of the file I am currently editing to the location I had already specified in Step 3.

Thanks for the clarification, I misunderstood your original post. We'll look at this and may include in a future version.
