Still no firm date yet, but we've made really good progress in the last few months and are doing some small private alpha testing groups now, with wider beta coming in the next month or two.

First rule of TextAloud 3: Never ask about the release of TextAloud 3....

(sorry, that dumb movie is stuck in my head today for some reason)

So your nearly close to a public beta? I'm glad to hear that! I'm very excited. I'm definatley going to download the betas. Would it support windows 7 builds?

So do I... I'm downloading beta of windows 7 build 6956 at the moment and I'm going to put it on my new hard drive at Christmas time and I have even found an activation serial for it! It's done 41.4% of it so far and it says that it's going to complete in 8h 40m.

I thought only the pre-beta was available right now.

It is a pre-beta build 6956. Download is done, tried it on a virtual PC, it was very slow. I need to wait till my new hard drive now.

Hm. Did you turn off all the bells and whistles to see if it ran any better? I found that turning off the glass and the sidebar in Vista made a huge difference.

Ken, I have installed it before you even wrote the message! I am enjoying it. I like the new features like spell check and audio clips, and I'm also running the windows 7 beta build 7000. A release candidate version of windows 7 is to be released on April 10th. Is there going to be future builds with the splash screen?
