Phonetic codes for Acapela

Postby Bunger Henry » Fri May 12, 2006 2:58 pm

kdwhite,

This was mentioned in another thread, but I was wondering if you had a contact at the Acapela group who could give us a list of the phonetic codes they use in their custom pronunciation file, so we could make our own custom pronunciations?

If you want, I can call them or email and try to get the list. Just not sure who to contact.

I'll try to find out. We are having to re-release the acapela voices using some different technology and I'm not positive whether there will be a dictionary editor or not.

Presently, Acapela’s Lexicon Manager uses Speech Assessment Methods Phonetic Alphabet (SAMPA)

Unfortunately, SAMPA symbols are quite different from those used in the exc_usa.txt file.

I don't think that's the phonetic table. If you look at the examples in the exc_usa.txt file, the codes are different.
