ROGERS -- Twenty MP3 players and downloadable audio books have been added to the Rogers Public Library collection and will be available to patrons beginning July 3.
Downloadable audiobooks are similar to books on CD or cassette currently available at the library, according to a news release.
Patrons may download any of the 1,500 available books to their PCs, then download the title onto any MP3 player using Windows Media Player 10. The book will stay on the computer for three weeks and may be renewed once. After the loan period, the computer files will be unusable.
Users interested in downloading books must first go to the library to set up a downloadable account. After registering, users may download books from any computer with Internet access. The library will offer computer stations and librarian assistance to patrons.
The MP3 players, GB Creative Zen Sleek Photos, may be borrowed for three weeks. One player may be borrowed per library card. The MP3 players may be placed on hold if all are checked out.

Purchase of the MP3 players was made possible through the Rogers Public Library Foundation.
