Buddy, can you spare a pronunciation dictionary?

Postby thnewton » Fri Nov 27, 2009 2:55 pm

Hi, I am a relatively new user of textaloud, quite impressive! Since my disability makes typing a challenge, I was wondering if a generous American-English speaker would be kind enough to share their pronunciation dictionary file with me?

The dictionaries are kept in the following folder:

In Vista or Windows 7 - c:\Users\{your user name}\AppData\Local\NextUp\TextAloud\Dictionaries
In Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\{your user name}\Local Settings\Application Data\NextUp\TextAloud\Dictionaries

If you can share your pronunciations with me, you may email me at thnewton at hotmail.

Thanks!
Tom

Would be happy to share mine (and it's huge -- 1500 entires or so), but only if you're using the 3.x beta. I got rid of my old 2.0 dics, I think. If you're using 3.x Beta, let me know and I'll email.

Thanks Sean, got it! I'll probably ask a few questions as I'm not too familiar with the voice specific pronunciation concept. My voices are 1) Ryan 22k Acapela American English, and 2) Lee 22k Scansoft Australian English.

Best, Tom

Tom,

you'll probably want to do the following:

1. Rename Heather dictionary to Ryan AND change the filter on that dictionary to be for Ryan instead of Heather. It should still help with Ryanthough since their both Acapela voices and often have the same problems.

2. Delete NeoSpeech dictionary.

3. Delete Serena, Moira and Fiona (unless you plan to buy).

Let me know if you have any other questions.
