Ebook reader with sound

Greetings,

I was reading the local newspaper yesterday when I noticed an advertisement for Sony's ebook reader

http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/sto ... 1644523779

This ebook reader does not have an audio feature. In other words the possibility of having the book read to you is not there. It immediately brought to mind why I like and use Nextup's TextAloud software so much. Sometimes I am tired or am made tired by the length of the material that I want to read. When this happens online I simply open TextAloud or use its toolbar and the task of reading is made easier and even enjoyable. I can read along, listen and have a cup of coffee at the same time.

Eventually developers of ebook readers, such as Sony, are going to add the audio feature to their products but you can be sure the price will increase considerably.

If you have followed the Kindle + audio debate, the authors and publishers made Amazon basically deactive the audio on the Kindle. The authors and publishers claim that it infringes on their right to make audio books. Great. The reality is 99.9% of all books published are never produced as an audio book. So there grip is worthless. But they make Amazon back down. This is why TextAloud is so important to those who want to listen to books.
