Jim bretti told me that they are getting close on to releasing TextAloud 3.0 beta, so they might have a date soon!

Ken, I notice that you haven't update your information about text aloud 3.0, so I think that this what it should read:

As always, we are working to improve TextAloud. From time to time I talk in the forums about things that will be in TextAloud 3.0, but it always seems to generate questions and thoughts from new users on whether they should wait until 3.0 before buying. So I thought maybe I should address that.

Estimating schedules is really hard for software companies, including us.There is still a lot of work to be done before we can release the beta. More details will come in the future about what it will include, and there are hints throughout the forum to some of it.

I don't yet know what pricing will be for 3.0, but it will likely be a little more than TextAloud currently is. For anyone that purchased in 2007, or purchases TextAloud now, version 3.0 will be a free upgrade, so you'd actually save money by purchasing now. Also, if you purchased TextAloud at anytime previously, you won't pay full purchase price but will get reduced price upgrade.

On the index page on the forums, scroll down and you will see Text Aloud 3.0 beta.Or you can download it from:
http://nextupdownloads.com/files/TA30B35.exe

This is the latest beta build 35 and it will expire on 31st March.

A link to the current build is always in the announcements section of the "TextAloud 3 Beta" forum. You need to login with your userid/password to be able to get to the forum, so if you don't have a userid/password you'll need to register.

The what's new page will be updpated when TA3 is released. I like this new version. It's nicer than text aloud 2, with the spell checker. Is there any plans for grammar check?
