Re: How to add stress to a syllable
Greetings Jack, Did not mean to offend you by calling you a novice. Using AT&T NV dictionary enter the following phoneme for misery: m ih z 1 ax 0 r iy 0 after entering the phoneme in AT&T NV, you have to exit TA for the changes to take effect. If you want to enter the phoneme in TA3 use the...

Re: How to add stress to a syllable
For most words flipping 0, 1 or 2 on the stress syllable(s) will not be noticeable to the novice. As you get more practice you will hear the subtle differences especially when the text is being read. However, for some words the placement of 0, 1 or 2 in the stress or unstressed syllable makes a big ...

Re: Dictionary
Greetings again, It was just mere luck that AT&T NV pronounced minute correctly in this case; to force it to pronounce minute correctly you would need a regular expression like the following: (?#mynute)(?m)(?<=^|\s|['"‘“(]|\p{Pi}|\p{Ps}|\p{Pd})(?<=split into two bright but )minute(?= suns)(...

Greetings: It became clearly split into two bright but minute suns, but a minute later TextAloud has a big problem with pronouncing homographs like (live, read, minute, etc.). If the above problem you encountered occurs in an AT&T NV voice it can be easily fixed (see the following post: http://w...

Re: How to add stress to a syllable
Greetings: You can do this by using AT&T Natural Voices phoneme editor available at C:\Program Files\ATTNaturalVoices\TTS1.4\Desktop\data\en_us.dict The phoneme for Klingon, if you are using AT&T phoneme editor would be k l ih ng 1 aa n 0 0 = syllable not stressed 1 = syllable has primary st...

Re: Regular Expressions and Masks Question regarding "the"
Greetings, What you are requesting can easily be handled with a regex/phoneme combination, but they are complications: since regex/phoneme combinations are currently extremely slow in TA3, I would not generalized the solution but do it on a case by case basis since some voices like AT&T NV alrea...

The problems described above seems to occur with relatively large text. TA 3.0.19, seems to work OK when the article's text size is relatively small.

TA 3.0.19 Not Working Properly
TA 3.0.19 not working properly, when resume is activated after a pause article reading seems to start from somewhere near the beginning. Also there is no highlighting of text when reading.

P.S. In the meantime, I need to re-install TA 3.0.18 where can I find a copy.

Re: how to skip numbers?
Greetings, I tested your sample text and the following regex works on it: (?#BibleSkip)(?m)(?<=^)\d+(?=(?-i)[A-Z](?i)) Follow the instructions given by Jim (above) to enter this regex, but do not enable case sensitivity. If you have spaces before the numbers this alternative should work for all situ...

Re: Embedded Conditions - Secondary Reflections
I have given some more thought to this problem and on further reflection, it seems that the regex engine is working correctly. Without, the else clause the embedded condition, (?(?= – ) – 0?([1-9]|1[0-2]):0([1-9])\s*?([AP])\.?M\.?), is optional and the non-optional part of the regex, ([1-9]|1[0-2]):...

Embedded Conditions Not Working Correctly
The regex below, with the embedded condition, (?(?= – ) – 0?([1-9]|1[0-2]):0([1-9])\s*?([AP])\.?M\.?), should pick-up the time 4:15 – 5:05 p.m. in the text below and it does. (?#dd:To)(?m)(?<=^|\s)['"‘“\p{Pi}\p{Ps}]{0,2}0?([1-9]|1[0-2]):([1-5][0-9])(?(?= – ) – 0?([1-9]|1[0-2]):0([1-9])\s*?([AP]...

Thanks,

Re: Phoneme Helper & Character No Longer Functional
Jim, this feature was working up to Version 3.0.10. I first noticed the problem in Version 3.0.12 when the following regex/phoneme combination crashed TA3: (?#asylum seekers)(?m)(?<=^|\s)['"‘“\p{Pi}\p{Ps}\p{Pd}]{0,2}asylum seekers(?=[^'’‘´a-z])(?=\s|\b|’|”|\p{Po}|\p{Pe}|\p{Pf}|\p{Pd}) ax - s ay...

Re: Pronounciation-Editor-Entry Problem
Actually if you are just interest in capturing the words a more elegant regex would be the following: (?m)(?<=^|\s)([a-zäöüß]+)(?=,|\s|\.) If you also want to pick-up the commas in you capturing parenthesis then following modification should do the trick: (?m)(?<=^|\s)([a-zäöüß,]+)(?=\s|\.) (?<=^|\s...

Re: Pronounciation-Editor-Entry Problem
Greetings,
I am not sure what you are trying to do since you did not show the replacement string but modifying the second regex (([\s]([,][\s])+[a-z,ä,ö,ü,ß]+)[\s])to the following:
(?m)((^|[,][\s]|[\s][,]|\s)[a-z,ä,ö,ü,ß]+)(?=[\s]|\.)
should capture all words.
