Hi Jessica Thanks for reporting this. I tried the same thing here. What I'm seeing is that the popup is actually displayed, but we're not forcing the window to the top. So it is possible for the popup to appear behind other windows, remain visible for a few seconds, then disappear. If that is happen...

Re: Voice Speed changes and then stops working
Thanks for letting me know about the character problem, great job finding that! The \u00A0 character you're seeing is a 'non breaking space', word processors use it to prevent a line break at certain space characters. I'll look at updating TextAloud to detect these and replace with normal spaces bef...

TextAloud can import Libre Office documents (.odt files) using File -> Open. If you're asking about a Libre extension we currently do not have one available.

There is an update at https://nextup.com/files/ta4.exe that fixes some of the NVDA issues mentioned here, and the problem with the garbage character between chapters when loading epub documents

I don't recognize this problem. Best thing would be to duplicate the error, and after the problem occurs, send a TextAloud problem report. From the TextAloud main menu click Help -> Support -> Report A Problem, and just mention this issue briefly in the problem report text

Re: pronouncing dot/point/period
Is the problem you want to pronounce the period in .NET as a dot, but not periods at the end of sentence? Let me know if that's not right. If that's the problem, one solution is to create an entry in a TextAloud pronunciation dictionary that matches the text .NET and respells it. See below for the r...

In general we have found that voices that support sapi5 phonemes don't support placing emphasis very well. Thanks for the suggestion, we'll look at adding this. In case you're interested, the ssml phoneme tag you're using also recognizes the x-sampa alphabet, which may be easier to enter from the keyboard. For example, alternate pronunciations of the word "pecan" look like this: <phoneme alphab...

Re: Pauses when reading text copied from PDF
I think the problem with the mask is that you're missing parentheses. When you use $1 and $2 in the respell field, they correspond to values matched in the expression in parentheses pairs. If you change your mask from ##:## to (##):(##) I think it should work. I'll check on the problem you found wit...

I'm not sure how the voice you're using would handle a colon followed by a period, but here are two options. First, here is how you can force a period to follow the colon at the end of a line. If I understand correctly, one problem you're having is that the rule to insert periods is not handling lines that end with a close parentheses character.
