I have moved TA and ITT voices to a new computer but I can not find the dictionary to move it.
Where is it?

Search Problems
Not sure what I did but the search/Ctrl>F function no longer works.
I get an error message saying "The string (xxx) was not found", no matter how many times it appears in the text.
Any ideas?

Pronunciation Dictionary
My dictionary is getting large enough that it is hard to find previous entries. It's not obvious what order they appear in the list but it seems to be random. New entries sometimes appear at the bottom but not always. Perhaps I am missing something but it would be nice if the list could be arranged ...

Re: Phoneme Generator
The red x in the phoneme helper dialog means the phoneme string is not valid. I understand that but why would it create invalid phonemes? I am speaking of instances where it created them along with the red x. > If you're seeing strange errors, like the 'top level element ...' message, make sure the...

Re: Phoneme Generator
Hi Jack Are you seeing this error from AT&T Mike in the Phoneme Helper dialog? Yes >Let me know if that is the voice you're having the problem with, and also, exactly what text are you using in the 'Sounds Like' field. ATT Mike. I don't have the original text but this is close enough. It is tim...

Phoneme Generator
I keep getting an error msg saying "only one top level element allowed". It's not exactly obvious what that means but it even happens when I allow the helper to generate the phoneme. My present plague is au revoir. Could someone please provide me with a phoneme that works with mike? And th...

Re: File Name
That seemed to work. Thanks. Now for a new one. This may be begging for a new feature but I was going at it from a different angle as a bandaid. It would be nice if there was some paging system that would allow one to go from some place in the MP3 to that place in the original text to fix something....

File Name
When I "speak to file", I do not get the option of naming the file. The title appears in the file name but when I load it into a SanDisk, it displays text aloud, time, date, voice and everything but the file name or title. Using the audio file options I can get rid of some of the garbage b...

I am moving to a new computer but can't find any info on how to move the voices.
I copied the ATT folder in program files to the new computer but they are not recognized.
How do I move them?

Mr. and Mrs.
TA treats Mrs. and Mr. as if they were the end of a sentence. The pause is rather jarring. I have tried tricking the dictionary but cant seem to fix it other than Mrs Jones but that only works on Jones.
Is there a fix?

Re: How to add stress to a syllable
Can't understand why you are still having this problem. A long time ago I had the same problem with misery being pronounced as Missouri but since I entered the phoneme I recommended to you in AT&T NV, I have had no problems with the pronunciation. I guess I have to give it up as nothing works f...

Re: How to add stress to a syllable
Greetings Jack, Did not mean to offend you by calling you a novice. No offense taken. I just want to make sure you understand what I am trying to do and it seems like getting misery right is so basic that it shouldn't have gotten past the beta testing. Turns out there is the same problem with incid...

Re: How to add stress to a syllable
For most words flipping 0, 1 or 2 on the stress syllable(s) will not be noticeable to the novice. As you get more practice you will hear the subtle differences especially when the text is being read. I am not sure in what sense I am a novice. I am only interested in listening to books and have almo...

Sound like you reached the right directory. Double click on the file en_us (should be red). Percy Henry I found it in the bin folder. Unfortunately, I can't seem to make it work even using the example in the help file. Swapping the 1 and 0 does not move the accent on the word browser. Assuming we g...

Re: Dictionary
One more issue related to pronunciation is alluding me.
Mike and Crystal frequently accent the wrong syllable but I can not find a clue as to how to change this in the dictionary.
Surely, this simple problem has a simple fix but I see nothing in the help list on the subject.

Re: Dictionary
Greetings again, It was just mere luck that AT&T NV pronounced minute correctly in this case; to force it to pronounce minute correctly you would need a regular expression like the following: (?#mynute)(?m)(?<=^|\s|['"‘“(]|\p{Pi}|\p{Ps}|\p{Pd})(?<=split into two bright but )minute(?= suns)...

Greetings: It became clearly split into two bright but minute suns, but a minute later TextAloud has a big problem with pronouncing homographs like (live, read, minute, etc.). If the above problem you encountered occurs in an AT&T NV voice it can be easily fixed (see the following post: http://...

Hi Jack, You'll lose some functionality specific to Sapi5 ... mainly the tags under the Insert Tags menu. First problem that I have run into is the speed control.
Using Mike16, 0 is much slower than -1 and +1 is too fast. I can't seem to get the speed I want.
Also, the test speed does not seem to agree with the actual run speed.
Any ideas?
Jack
