Re: TextAloud3 fails to find voices in Widows XP
Jim, Thank you very much. I finally arrived at the promised land. After I installed Sapi5.dll from my WinXP SP3 CD ( luckily I had created an WinXP SP3 CD early last year as I had bought my original WinXP in 2004 or even earlier) and rebooted, I was able to hear TextAloud read aloud text I typed on ...

Re: TextAloud3 fails to find voices in Widows XP
Jim, I re-did everything twice just a few minutes ago in the sequence indicated below. (1) When I ran FixRegistry, I saw the following screen error: SP5 does not appear to be installed correctly. Please contact support@nextup.com. (2) So I ran Microsoft-English-TTS-51.msi , which I downloaded a few ...

Re: TextAloud3 fails to find voices in Widows XP
There is a slightly newer version, 3.0.74.4, at http://www.nextup.com/files/ta3.exe Try installing that and see if there is any difference. If the newer version doesn't help, it may help if you try the FixRegistry utility we have available. See the post at http://nextup.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=1...

TextAloud3 fails to find voices in Widows XP
2014-12-23 I am now using the free version TextAloud3 in Windows XP on my MacBook Pro, which hosts Windows XP and Ubuntu 12.04. I see all the TA3704 files in the C\Program Files\TextAloud\ folder including Spchapi.exe and Microsoft-English-TTS-51. As a matter of fact, I successfully installed TextAl...

Re: TextAloudMP3.exe: Missing DLLs
The old DLL problem has just gone away after I found the DLLs in a directory in Linux Mint 17. But, if I try to run 'wine TextAloudMP3.exe' from my home directory or from where the DLLs are located, I see new errors. I am showing one error message below and hope some TextAloud users can glean meanin...

TextAloudMP3.exe: Missing DLLs
2014-12-07 After I downloaded TextAloud into my Linux Mint 17 computer last night, I ran winecfg and winetricks. I subsequently entered the following command to learn to use wine and immediately saw missing-dll errors on the screen. As I am having a very strange cut-and-paste bug with my computer, I...

TextAloudMP3.exe: Missing DLLs
2014-12-07 I decided to do a simple test after downloading TextAloud into my Linux Mint 17 computer last night and saw the following errors. I thought it would be a good way to learn to use this TTS application. I've looked into Winetricks and did'nt see any such DLLs there. Any advice and help will...
