This page provides more voice choices for use with NextUp.com Aloud products. Some additional voices, like AT&T Natural Voices™ and Cepstral™ Voices, work in other SAPI4 or SAPI5 compliant speech programs. However, the additional voices available from Nuance RealSpeak™ and also Acapela™ Voices ONLY work in NextUp.com products.

Exciting new Nuance RealSpeak Solo® voices are now available for TextAloud. 

Available in a variety of languages, these high quality SAPI5 voices average around 100mb in disk space, support speed but not pitch adjustment, and the US English voices are supported by TextAloud's Advanced Phoneme-based pronunciation editor.  They are $45 each and are available via download or on CD.

Note: These voices are sold only as part of TextAloud, so you must already have it or must purchase TextAloud at this time for the voices to work. We will have updates to the other Aloud products soon that will also support the voices.

Version 4.0 Cepstral Voices Now Available*  Exciting new voices from Cepstral® are now available for only $29.99 each.  These high quality voices take up less disk space (average less than 50mb) than most premium voices, do not use as much processor power, and are very fast when creating audio files.  These SAPI5 compliant voices are supported by all NextUp.com products as well as most other speech products.

The Microsoft Text To Speech engine includes 3 voices (Mary, Mike and Sam). Also below is a Lernout & Hauspie engine with 10 American English voices. To install these, download from the link below and follow instructions:

We also have more Lernout & Hauspie Text To Speech engines including British English and several additional languages. To install these, download from the link below and follow instructions:

After the download is complete, run the .exe file to install the new voice engine. Click File->Exit on TextAloud and restart the program. The new voices will appear under "Lernout & Hauspie" when you click on the Engines/Voices tab.  If voices do not appear, check Advanced FAQ for more help.
